Vertigo Research HQ
Privacy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Vertigo Research HQ is designed to minimize tracking. You can read every article and use every site feature without accepting optional analytics.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting and security providers necessarily process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, browser and device information, requested address, date and time, and security or error data. We do not use those operational logs to create health-based advertising profiles.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 is blocked unless you choose Allow analytics. When allowed, it is configured to measure general site use with advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalization, Google signals, enhanced measurement, User-ID, and granular location and device collection disabled.
The site sends a normalized site title and a page address without query parameters. We do not intentionally send email content, personal medical information, article-topic details in custom events, or affiliate experiment details to Google Analytics.
The production analytics configuration is limited to vertigoresearchhq.com and www.vertigoresearchhq.com. Local-development and Cloudflare preview addresses let reviewers test both privacy choices, but they never load or contact Google Analytics. A preview selection applies only to that preview address; the live domain asks separately.
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga containing a randomly generated client identifier used to distinguish browsers and sessions. Our GA4 retention settings are two months for event data and 14 months for user data. Google may retain other service or aggregated data under its own terms and policies.
Your privacy choice
Your choice is saved in local browser storage for up to 180 days so the site can remember it. Browser storage may persist until it expires or you clear it.
Use Privacy choices in the footer at any time to see or change the current selection. Rejecting analytics stops future analytics loading on this site and removes accessible _ga cookies for this domain. It does not affect access to content.
On a local or Cloudflare preview address, the banner and privacy panel let reviewers test both choices. The selection is saved only for that preview and no analytics request is sent.
Affiliate and external links
Some commercially eligible pages may link to an approved merchant. The referral URL can include a privacy-minimized experiment and variant identifier so we can determine which approved destination was shown. We do not intentionally add the article title, health topic, diagnosis, email address, or other personal information to that identifier.
After you follow an external link, the destination controls its own data collection, cookies, transaction, and privacy practices. Review the third party's policy before providing personal or payment information.
The site has no user accounts and no on-site contact form. If you email us, the message, sender address, headers, and attachments are processed by the email providers used by you and Vertigo Research HQ.
Use email only for editorial, correction, disclosure, accessibility, technical, or privacy questions. Do not send medical records, medication lists, insurance information, payment details, passwords, or other sensitive personal information.
How information is used
Information is used only as reasonably needed to:
- deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site;
- understand aggregate site use after consent;
- respond to editorial, correction, disclosure, accessibility, and privacy messages;
- maintain publication records and legal obligations; and
- prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use health-based remarketing, behavioral advertising audiences, or advertising personalization.
Service providers
The site uses Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, GitHub for source and deployment workflows, Google Analytics only after consent, and an email provider for messages sent to our editorial address. Each provider processes information under its own terms, security measures, and legal obligations.
Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, publication accountability, security, or legal obligations. No internet service or email system can guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.
Privacy questions and requests
Privacy rights vary by location. To ask what information we may hold from an email exchange, request correction or deletion, or raise another privacy concern, email [email protected] with the subject Privacy request.
We may need enough information to verify and complete a request, but we will not ask for unnecessary medical or identity documents through ordinary email.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes to collection or choice will be reflected in the site controls before they take effect where required.
